Privacy Policy

OwnCue is designed to keep your purchase records useful without turning them into an advertising profile.

What OwnCue stores

Information you enter or import may include purchase names, merchants, dates, prices, currencies, order and serial numbers, deadlines, refunds, subscriptions, notes, OCR text, and attached images or PDFs.

Where your data lives

OwnCue is local-first. Records and documents are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud synchronization, Apple stores and synchronizes them in your private CloudKit database under your Apple account. OwnCue remains usable locally when iCloud is unavailable.

Accounts and tracking

OwnCue does not require an OwnCue account. The current app does not use advertising trackers and does not link a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

What is not sent to analytics

Receipt or document contents, merchant and product names, prices, currencies, filenames, OCR text, order numbers, serial numbers, tracking numbers, email addresses, and notes are not sent to analytics or diagnostic providers.

System services

OwnCue uses Apple services for optional iCloud sync, local notifications, device authentication, Spotlight, widgets, Shortcuts, document scanning, and on-device text recognition. Apple processes information according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Exports, imports, and deletion

You can create a complete data export, including attachments, from Settings. Imports verify attachment checksums. Delete All Data removes local records, attachments, related reminders, and Spotlight entries; iCloud may propagate deletion to your other devices.

Security

OwnCue supports optional device-owner authentication and uses Apple platform storage protections. Do not store passwords or full payment-card numbers in OwnCue. No system can promise absolute security, and OwnCue does not claim custom end-to-end encryption.

Children

OwnCue is a general productivity application and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly operate a service that collects children's personal information.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. If future features add third-party services or server-side data processing, this policy and App Store disclosures will be updated before release.
